Relationship Counselling – Psychologist in Tallinn and Online

Relationship Problems and Difficulties

Relationships play an important role in people's lives and have a significant impact on emotional well-being, a sense of security, and overall quality of life. As a result, relationship problems and difficulties can become a source of considerable stress, emotional pain, and inner tension.

When relationships are affected by conflict, misunderstandings, emotional distance, or recurring painful situations, this can have an impact on self-esteem, mood, work, and a person's overall sense of stability and well-being.

Working with a psychologist can help you gain a better understanding of what is happening in your relationships, recognise recurring patterns of interaction, and discover new ways of connecting with yourself and others.

Counselling sessions are available in Tallinn and online for clients worldwide.

When Counselling May Be Helpful

Many people seek support only when the situation has become particularly painful or overwhelming.

However, counselling can also be valuable if you notice recurring difficulties in your relationships, feel dissatisfied, or would like to better understand your needs and the ways you relate to others.

Reasons for seeking counselling may include ongoing relationship conflicts, emotional distance in a relationship, communication difficulties, feeling lonely in a relationship, jealousy, trust issues, fear of intimacy, or recurring relationship problems.
If you often experience loneliness, emotional distance, a lack of emotional connection, or a feeling of not being truly understood even within a relationship, you may also find it helpful to learn more about support for loneliness and social isolation: Loneliness and Social Isolation

Fear of losing a relationship, an unhealthy attachment to a partner, or a feeling that it is impossible to feel happy without a relationship may also be connected to emotional dependency. If these experiences feel familiar to you, you may also find it helpful to learn more about working with emotional dependency: Emotional Dependencу and Unhealthy Attachment

Psychological support may also be helpful if you find yourself repeating the same relationship patterns, struggling with a breakup or divorce, unable to let go of a past relationship, or experiencing difficulties finding and building a healthy relationship with a partner.
If you are currently struggling with divorce, separation, or the end of an important relationship, you may also find it helpful to learn more about support for these experiences: Divorce, Separation and Relationship Breakup

If you find it difficult to find a suitable partner, develop emotional intimacy, or build close and trusting relationships, you may also find it helpful to learn more about support for difficulties building close relationships: Difficulties Building Close Relationships

Sometimes relationship difficulties are part of a broader life crisis connected to divorce, a relationship breakup, major life transitions, changing life circumstances, or the search for a new sense of direction, meaning, and purpose in life.
If these experiences feel familiar, you may also find it helpful to learn more about Life Transitions, Life Crises and Self-Discovery

Relationship difficulties are often connected not only to the current situation, but also to established relationship patterns, ways of building emotional closeness, past relationship experiences, and the way a person relates to themselves. Difficulties in relationships are also frequently associated with unhealthy personal boundaries, challenges in expressing needs, or fear of conflict. If these experiences feel familiar, you may also find it helpful to learn more about support for personal boundaries and healthy relationships:

Working with a psychologist can help you better understand the underlying causes of relationship difficulties, recognise recurring relationship patterns, and gradually build healthier, more secure, and more fulfilling relationships.

Many relationship difficulties are connected not only to a partner's behaviour or external circumstances, but also to low self-esteem, self-doubt, fear of rejection, confidence issues, or difficulties setting healthy boundaries.
If these difficulties resonate with you, you may also find it helpful to learn more about psychological support for low self-esteem, self-doubt, and confidence issues. Low Self-Esteem and Self-Doubt

How the work is structured

During the first sessions, we take time to explore your situation, the history of your relationships, and the issues that are causing the greatest distress at the present time.

As counselling progresses, we explore patterns of interaction, emotional responses, expectations, and underlying beliefs that may be influencing your relationships.

The goal of counselling is not to assign blame, but to develop a deeper understanding of what is happening and identify changes that can help you build more stable and fulfilling relationships.

Confidentiality and professional ethics are fundamental principles of my work.
