Meanwhile, the body continues to use its resources, which can gradually lead to emotional exhaustion, irritability, and chronic fatigue.

When Counselling May Be Helpful

Psychological support may be helpful if stress and inner tension begin to affect your emotional well-being, relationships, ability to work, or overall quality of life.

For example, if you find it difficult to relax even in calm situations, switch off anxious thoughts, recover your energy after rest, or experience a lasting sense of inner calm.

You may also benefit from counselling if you experience persistent tension, emotional exhaustion, irritability, sleep difficulties, a sense of losing control, or a feeling that your body is constantly in a state of heightened alertness.

Many people describe this experience by saying:

“I can’t relax.”

“I always feel on edge.”

“I can’t switch off my thoughts.”

“I feel tense all the time.”

If these experiences feel familiar and continue to affect your daily life, psychological support may help you better understand the causes of chronic stress, reduce inner tension, and develop healthier ways of coping with emotional pressure and uncertainty.

Persistent rumination, anxious overthinking, and a feeling of being unable to stop thinking about problems are common experiences associated with anxiety.
