Many people continue to work, manage responsibilities, and meet everyday demands while experiencing increasing emotional exhaustion and chronic fatigue.

Sometimes loneliness may manifest through:

• persistent fatigue and low energy;
• emotional exhaustion and a feeling of being emotionally drained;
• loss of interest in activities that once felt enjoyable or meaningful;
• reduced motivation;
• ncreased irritability;
• difficulty concentrating and staying focused;
• feeling that rest is no longer helping you recover;
• a sense of inner emptiness;
• reduced satisfaction with work or life in general;
• feeling that even familiar everyday tasks require constant effort and self-motivation.

Burnout often develops gradually and may only become noticeable when stress and emotional strain have been present for a prolonged period of time.

Burnout can be related not only to work and professional responsibilities, but also to ongoing emotional demands in personal relationships, caring for loved ones, carrying a high level of responsibility, or living under prolonged stress.

If you recognise several of these signs of burnout and notice that they have been persisting over time, seeking professional psychological support may be helpful.

When Counselling May Be Helpful

Psychological support may be helpful if you notice that fatigue, emotional stress, or feelings of exhaustion are beginning to affect your work, relationships, daily life, or overall well-being.

For example, you may find it increasingly difficult to recover after rest, maintain interest in activities you once enjoyed, cope with ongoing demands, or find the emotional energy needed for everyday responsibilities.

You may also consider seeking support if you are experiencing emotional emptiness, loss of motivation, persistent fatigue, emotional exhaustion, feeling overwhelmed, or a sense that you are simply going through the motions of daily life.

Prolonged emotional exhaustion can be accompanied by feelings of emptiness, loss of interest in life, and a growing sense of lost meaning and purpose. If these experiences feel familiar, you may also find it helpful to learn more about support for loss of meaning and purpose in life: Loss of Meaning, Purpose and Direction in Life

Emotional burnout often develops in people who place excessively high expectations on themselves, strive to do everything perfectly, and find it difficult to rest or replenish their emotional resources. If these experiences feel familiar, you may also find it helpful to learn more about support for perfectionism: Perfectionism

Burnout and emotional exhaustion are often accompanied by anxiety, inner tension, and persistent worry. If these experiences feel familiar, you may also find it helpful to learn more about support for anxiety and anxiety-related difficulties: Anxiety and Stress

Emotional burnout often develops as a result of chronic stress, persistent inner tension, emotional overload, and insufficient recovery of personal resources. If these experiences feel familiar, you may also find it helpful to learn more about support for stress and inner tension: Persistent Inner Tension

Emotional burnout often prompts people to reflect on whether their work, lifestyle, and life goals are aligned with who they truly are and what they genuinely want from life. If these themes feel familiar, you may also find it helpful to learn more about support for self-discovery and finding your life path: Finding Yourself and Your Life Path

Long-term emotional exhaustion can also be connected to major life changes, a loss of meaning or purpose, changing priorities and values, or a feeling that your previous way of life is no longer fulfilling. You can learn more about these experiences here: Life Transitions, Life Crises and Self-Discovery

Working with a psychologist can help you better understand the underlying causes of what you are experiencing, restore your inner resources, and gradually develop a healthier and more sustainable balance between responsibilities, rest, and self-care.

How the work is structured

During counselling, we explore not only the current symptoms of fatigue, emotional exhaustion, loss of motivation, and burnout, but also the lifestyle patterns, self-expectations, beliefs, and coping strategies that may contribute to maintaining burnout and chronic stress.

Over time, it becomes possible to develop a deeper understanding of your needs, recognise your personal limits, restore emotional resources, and build healthier and more sustainable ways of caring for yourself.

In my work, I use methods and techniques from existential therapy, together with elements of Gestalt therapy, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and psychodrama.

Session Format

In-person sessions take place in central Tallinn.

Online sessions are available via Zoom, WhatsApp, or Microsoft Teams. If needed, we can arrange other meeting formats by prior agreement.

Sessions can be held in English.

Counselling Fees

An individual counselling session lasts 50 minutes.

The fee is €40 per session.

Sessions are available in person in Tallinn or online.

Some people come for a single consultation focused on a specific issue, while others choose longer-term counselling.
